RETP (2yrs at GT-approved college then 2+yrs at GT)Aug 21 2007Electrical Engineering
RETP (2yrs at GT-approved college then 2+yrs at GT) is the easiest way to get in. If you don't make the cut for regular admission, you can still get into RETP because the cutoffs are lower.

Also you can get into the GTREP program and avoid the Atlanta campus altogether. GTREP at Georgia Southern in Statesboro is very fun, and getting good grades is easier since you're not competing with the top-notch international students, but its basically impossible to find work since GSU is twice the population of the county, and all the students are looking for jobs.

The best way to get into tech is to transfer inAug 21 2007Engineering Department
The best way to get into tech is to transfer in. Get all your physics and math out of the way, keep your GPA around 3.5, and you'll get in. If you want guaranteed transfer to Tech, RETP is the way to go...if you didn't make the cut with your GT app, you can still get into GT-RETP because the admissions requirements are less strict. Or just do GTREP and get your Tech degree and avoid that campus altogether...highly recommended. Georgia Southern University/Statesboro classes are easier, and the campus is way more fun than Atlanta but its very hard to find a job in that area. But don't go to Tech!
SAT: 1330 Male
Have a goodFeb 08 2007Mechanical Engineering
Have a good GPA, do well at the SAT / ACT. Write a decent essay that probably will not be read.

I recommend students to know what they are getting into before they decide for this school. If you don't feel welcome, don't hesitate to transfer. I don't recommend this school. Good luck with getting any reasonable financial assistance other than loans and minor scholarships.
SAT: 1300 Male

I had a 3Sep 27 2006Civil Engineering
I had a 3.82/4.0 GPA, was a 4-year varsity athlete, and participated in multiple high school activities. And I wrote a killer essay with the help of my AP English teacher.
Good SAT scores,Aug 28 2006Civil Engineering
Good SAT scores, grades, and extracurricular activities will get you in, but being a minority is an instant ticket to admission. All you have to do is write a legible essay. Don't worry about your writing quality... if you can form complete sentences, you'll beat half the people here.
